American Can at 3600 Kingshighway in St. Louis


Bottom photo is the St. Louis Plant (083). St. Louis plant made containers after the way until 1997. St. Louis plant during its history made a full line of containers. Salt containers, oil cans, tobacco cans, coffee cans, paint cans, beverage cans, food cans and much more.
The plant once employed over 1800 workers.
During World War two, it produced torpedo under the "Amertorp" label.
The above page is part of the records saved when a good portion of the plant was torn down. Small fragment of the original plant still remains.
