 "JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Though the right-to-work law is now headed toward the ballot in November, but that doesn’t mean that the fight is finished.

In an email sent out by county party groups, Republicans are asking for volunteers to carry petitions and gather signatures for a proposed petition.

Here’s the language that the Missouri GOP is proposing:



 “Do you want to amend the Missouri Constitution to provide that every employee shall have the freedom to work without being forced to pay any fees to a union (labor organization) or join a union in order to gain or keep a job?”"



note:  folks are paid $3 per valid signature.  good pay, but of course Koch folks can afford to be generous

Last week, you helped elect a Tea Party President. Don't let anyone tell you Trump isn't the Tea Party's product. He is. Without the Tea Party--without you--Hillary Clinton would be getting ready to nominate Barrack Obama to the Supreme Court.

Without you, most of the 1st and 2nd Amendments would be on their way to the ash heap of history.

Without you, the American experiment would be about to end in surrender to putrid kleptocracy.

But you never folded, never whined, never ran away from the fight. Even though the Tea Party became less visible, we became more formidable.

In short, we won.

We still have the hard work of accountability, of course. The war isn't won, just the battle.

But that, my friends, was a crucial battle. While our win on November 8 does not assure final victory, a loss would have meant certain defeat. Defeat for everything we stood for. Defeat for the founding philosophy of America. Defeat for the idea of self-governance. Defeat for the rule of law. Defeat for Judeo-Christian civilization.

As I wrote last week, Trump's win completed the Tea Party. And, while we may not go away, we finally have an answer when asked, "what has the Tea Party accomplished?"

We can now say simply, "we've made America great again."

Thank you for being with us through every battle, from the steps of the Arch in February 2009 to Russ Carnahan's office parking lot to the front porch of SEIU. Those boiling hot nights of August 2009. Those depressing days of horrible Supreme Court decisions. That deflating evening in November 2012.

Finally, to bastardize a line from that great adopted-American Winston Churchill, if the American experiment lasts another thousand years, let them say the Tea Party saved the country.

ST. LOUIS • The biggest political donor in Missouri history just had a really big month.

Between June 1 and July 1, groups funded by St. Louis-based conservative activist Rex Sinquefield donated more than $4.45 million to three Republican candidates for Missouri statewide office, records show. More than $1.75 million of those contributions were made on Friday.

Those kinds of numbers would look like typos in almost any U.S. venue other than Missouri, one of the few places in America where a wealthy donor can still write any size check he wants to any candidate.

These limits were set in 1967 and have not changed since. As a result, people with disabilities and seniors cannot save their own money to help with expenses like education, home and car repairs, and other basic needs. HB 1565 would gradually raise Missouri's asset limits, allowing people to save their own money for important expenses. Last week, the Missouri House passed HB 1565 by a vote of 151-7 – this is great news! Now the bill moves to the Senate. One reason may be that Missouri is the only U.S. state where our Department of Insurance is not allowed to review or publish health insurance rates. Giving the Missouri Department of Insurance the ability to review health insurance rates could help keep premiums lower for Missouri. There have been two bills filed that would create rate review in Missouri. One, HB 1405, picked up four additional co-sponsors – two Republicans and two Democrats – after our lobby day. ON ELECTION DAY 2000, AS officials in Florida wrestled with butterfly ballots and hanging chads, Thor Hearne—then the Missouri counsel for the Bush-Cheney campaign—faced a crisis. It had been a frantic day marked by long lines, improperpurging of names from voter lists, and hundreds of voters turned away from the polls. As the problems in the overwhelmingly Democratic city mounted, the Gore campaign went to court to ask that the polls stay open three more hours. A judge granted the request, but Hearne appealed, and in short order, the decision wasoverturned.

Republicans were apoplectic over the Democrats' maneuver. At stake were not only Missouri's Electoral College votes, but also the fate of GOP Sen. John Ashcroft, who was locked in a tough reelection battle against a popular longtime rival, Democratic Gov. Mel Carnahan. Carnahan had died in a plane crash a few weeks before the election, but his widow, Jean, was set to serve in his stead. In the end, even as Bush carried the state, Ashcroft lost to a dead man.
